+Purchased from: Ralph Nevill,1898年
+The collection made in Ceylon (Sri Lanka) by Hugh Nevill (1847-97) was divided between two sequences: 1898,0702.1 to 197 (religious objects, which were entered in the Antiquities Register); and 1898,0703.1 to 1719 (ethnographic objects - many have As prefixes added later). The two collections were purchased together in 1898 for £150 from his son, Ralph Nevill.
+NB There is a separate sequence As1898,0702.1 to 95. This is of Siberian objects, given by H H Howorth, and has nothing to do with the Nevill collection.
