A large gilt lacquered copper figure of Vajrapani
18th/19th Century, Possibly Mongolian
The figure posed striding to the right and holding a vajra in his right hand, his fearsome face topped by flamelike tresses rising behind a replacement crown, his body clothed in a tiger skin, the princely jewelry of a bodhisattva and the loops of a long shoulder scarf that trail downward to the separately cast base (minor losses).
