Vajradhara, representing the supreme essence of all buddhas, is identified by his hands, which are crossed in the gesture of highest energy. Two lotuses at shoulder level support a thunderbolt, which represents the male principle of fitness of action and compassion, and the bell, which symbolizes the female principle of wisdom.
Tiny pieces of turquoise (from Afghanistan and China) and coral (from Italy), beloved by Tibetans for their brilliant colors, decorate this figure.

金刚总持象征诸佛之究竟本质，其双手交握结最高能量印契为辨识特征。双肩莲花分别托举金刚杵（象征男性特质的精进行动力与慈悲）与金刚铃（象征女性特质的智慧）。造像表面镶嵌来自阿富汗与中国的绿松石以及意大利珊瑚的细碎饰片，这些璀璨宝石深受藏地珍爱。
