莲花手菩萨立像，立于带背光的台座之上，身披僧袍与帔帛，衣缘外展成尖翅状。带铭文。铜铸鎏金。
The flame-like robes so characteristic of late Northern Wei sculpture are associated with the carving of the first series of Buddhist cave temples at Longmen. A new manner of depicting drapery was evolved there, in which the flared edges of robes and scarves were pulled out into tapering points, conveying the linear rhythms of Chinese calligraphy and painting. The rounded modelling and semi-naturalistic bunching of the garments on this Padmapāṇi's feet anticipate sculpture of the succeeding Eastern Wei dynasty (533-50). An important collection of similar Bodhisattvas made on a larger scale in white marble, of the late Northern Wei and Eastern Wei dynasties, has been found at the Xiude temple, Quyang, Hebei province.
北魏晚期雕塑最具特征的火焰状衣纹，与龙门石窟首批佛教洞窟的开凿密切相关。龙门石窟发展出一种全新的衣纹表现手法，将袈裟与帔帛的衣缘外展成尖翘状，传达出中国书画的线性韵律。此尊莲花手菩萨足部衣袍的圆润造型与半写实式褶皱，则开启了后续东魏（533-50年）雕塑的先河。在河北曲阳修德寺出土的一批重要的北魏晚期至东魏大型汉白玉菩萨像中，可见与此类似的表现手法。
