Dehua porcelain figure of a seated Guanyn, with elongated ear lobes and jewelled crown, necklace and bracelet, holding a scroll in one hand and sitting on an oval plinth. The figure is hollow inside. There is incised decoration on the plinth.

德化白瓷观音坐像，双耳垂肩，头戴宝冠，佩项链及手钏，手持经卷，坐于椭圆形底座之上。造像内部中空，底座饰有划花纹样。

德化窯陶工製作的陶瓷神像不僅供國內供奉，也遠銷境外。在福建，陶瓷塑像的出現原本是為了替代象牙雕塑，因其成本更低。考古發掘、沉船、貨運清單及財產清單皆可作為證據，證明德化窯陶瓷曾經銷往歐洲。當然，德化窯在國內市場也有銷售，觀音塑像就相當流行。此尊塑像手持書卷，背部署有工匠個人款識。

Possibly acquired by Sir Percival David before 1964, most likely between 1914 and 1950 when he did most of his collecting. This object is part of the Sir Percival David Collection, previously on loan to the British Museum since 2009. In 2024, the Trustees of the Sir Percival David Foundation of Chinese Art gifted this private collection of Chinese ceramics to the Museum permanently.

可能由Percival David爵士于1964年之前入藏，最可能的时间范围是在他收藏活动最为集中的1914年至1950年间。此器物原为Percival David爵士藏品的一部分，自2009年起借展于大英博物馆。2024年，Percival David中国艺术基金会受托人将此私人珍藏的中国陶瓷永久赠予该馆。
